3D Post Processing Fellowship
Curriculum
The curriculum for this fellowship includes a wide range of post-processing techniques for CT and MR data sets. Upon completion of a Visiting 3D Fellowship, the participant will have an increased understanding of the following:
- curved planar reformations
- maximum intensity projections
- volume rendering, with opacity, lighting, and color mapping
- quantitative analysis before and after stent graft deployment
- data segmentation and editing techniques for bone removal and improved vascular visualization
- sliding thin slab volume visualization
- coronary artery calcium scoring
- CT and MR cardiac imaging
- virtual endoscopy
- output, storage, and retrieval of 3D images
- PACS integration
By arrangement in advance, participants may additionally choose to:
- Observe the acquisition of imaging data using multi-row detector CT or magnetic resonance imaging in an out patient setting
- Participate in interpretation sessions with faculty
- Interact with faculty, students, and post-doctoral fellows who are developing the tools to facilitate new applications, such as computer aided lesion detection and virtual colonoscopy.
